Bij de restauratie aan het eind van de twintigste eeuw heeft de architect een open oplossing bedacht, waardoor vanaf de begane grond tot in de nok van het pand kan worden gekeken. Hij creëerde daarvoor een hal, twee vides en een overloop.

In de hal achter de voordeur bevindt zich een ruime wc met toilet en urinoir. U wordt daarbij gade geslagen door leden van het Nederlandse koningshuis, hopelijk schrikt u dat niet af. In de hal zelf bevindt zich een buffetkast met spelletjes, mocht u zich vervelen. De twee raven Hugin en Munin houden in de gaten of u het huis netjes gebruikt.

Vanuit de hal kunt u via een deur met bovenboog - wat voorheen als een soort teruggeplaatste voordeur werd gezien als een teken van welstand - naar de woonkamer.

In de hal stond vroeger een klein keukenblok dat door de bakker werd gebruikt. Aan het einde van de gang die naar de keuken gaat stond vroeger een waterpomp. Die bevond zich tegen de huidige keukenwand naast het raampje met spiegelglas. De pomp haalde haar water uit een waterkelder, die zich onder de huidige keuken bevindt. Deze waterkelder is er nog steeds. Het bestaat uit een gewelf gemetseld van zogenaamde geeltjes, met estrikken op de vloer. Door een houten luik was de kelder bereikbaar.

Vanuit de hal leidt een trap naar de eerste verdieping waar zich de vide bevindt. Met een opstapje kom je vervolgens in de overloop van het hoofdgebouw. Hier bevindt zich de trap naar de tweede verdieping.

De voordeur wordt nagenoeg niet gebruikt. Het is de gewoonte om via de zijkant en de binnentuin de achterdeur naar de keuken te gebruiken. Voor u als gast is dat ook de meest eenvoudige toegang.
